Fall in love with the simplicity of counseling sessions from the comfort of your home, office, or anywhere!

Telemental health is a technology-based solution to ensuring mental health services are easily accessible to those seeking assistance. It allows a therapist or counselor to provide psychological counseling and support via telephone, web-based platforms, text messages, and/or emails. Instead of traveling to your mental health provider’s office, you will receive services via a telemental health platform. The platform(s) used for these services may vary and will be determined by you and your provider.

The delivery methods of telemental health services fall under two main categories:

  • Synchronous interactions are when communication between a client and therapist happens in real time. This would be similar to a counseling session. It would be just like scheduling an appointment to see your therapist, but instead of traveling to the therapist’s office, you would receive counseling in the remote environment of your choice. Telemental health providers often use the telephone and/or video conferencing platforms to deliver this type of service.

  • Asynchronous interactions are when time lapses during discussions between a client and their telemental health therapist. An example of this would be asking your therapist a question via email. They may not be in front of their computer to respond immediately, but they respond after some time has lapsed with an answer to your question.Telemental health providers often use email and/or text messaging for this type of service.

By utilizing technological advances, more clients are able to fit therapy into their busy schedules. This could translate to less time away from work for appointments and/or less time spent in traffic. It can also translate to a more comfortable therapy environment, especially for patients seeking treatment for certain conditions, such as anxiety. In addition, it allows the freedom and ability of those that may live in more remote locations to gain the access to mental health services they desire.

Your online security is of the utmost importance. The telemental health platforms we utilize are secure and meet HIPAA data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information. You can rest assured that your private information is protected at all times.

Determining if Online Counseling is the Right for You

  • Are you having thoughts of harming or killing yourself or someone else?

  • Are you experiencing an immediate crisis?

  • Are you experiencing any delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking or psychotic symptoms?

If you answer ‘yes’ to any of the above statements, then online counseling is not a good fit for your current needs.  You would likely benefit from in-person therapy sessions.

If you answered ‘no’ contact us today to get started!

You will need:

  • A smartphone, laptop, or desktop computer.  If you are using a desktop computer, you will also need a webcam.

  • Wired earphones (for greater privacy and a stronger audio connection).

  • Strong internet service connection. If you can easily stream Netflix or another streaming service without the programming freezing or stopping, then your internet speed and quality should be adequate for online counseling sessions.

  • A room with privacy where you do not feel like others can hear you. It also needs to be a space where you will not be disturbed or where other people will be walking in during your therapy session.

Not all insurance policies cover online therapy. To determine if your insurance covers this service please call or email us with your policy information and we will verify coverage. If you do not have insurance or do not have a policy that covers online therapy, we have multiple self-pay packages for you to chose from.
